AVQT

  • What is AVQT?

    • AVQT is a homogenous resilient product made with a "through and through" PVC construction. This means that the color of the tile is maintained throughout the whole tile and not just the top layer. AVQT comes in a wide range of colors and different thicknesses to fit any requirement.
  • What kind of floor preparation is needed?

    • The sub-floor must be prepared to ensure that it is smooth, flat and dry. Any bump, ridge or indentation in the sub-floor may eventually show on the surface of the tile.
  • What are the quality tests performed on the flooring?

    • We perform a multitude of tests to adhere to ASTM (American Standards for Testing Materials), JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), BS (British Standards) and AS (Australian Standards).
  • What adhesive is best for installing AVQT?

    • We recommend using a water-based acrylic adhesive such as Apo Powerbond. This product is non-toxic and doesn't give off harmful fumes such as contact cement. It does not cause shrinkage to the tiles and has greater bonding strength. Possibility of correction once the tile has been laid makes installation easier. It is also only applied on one side of the tile, unlike other adhesives. This makes it more economical with better results compared to other adhesives such as contact cement.
  • How do I care and maintain AVQT?

    • Daily sweeping or mopping will help maintain the original shine and color of a vinyl floor for years. Quick clean up of spots and spills with a mild detergent and water will prevent discoloration of the flooring and a weekly or bi-weekly cleaning with a commercial floor cleaner (like our APO Floor care system) will remove surface scratches and keep the floor looking good as new.
  • Can AVQT handle spills such as water?

    • Yes, it will not react when in contact with spills such as water because it is impervious to water. We recommend using a water-resistant adhesive like our Powerbond to prevent delamination for short-term seepage of water.
  • How about other types of spills such as oils and chemicals?

    • AVQT can take on sudden spills from cooking oil, soy sauce, vinegar and other light chemicals. Caution though must be made for our vinyl not in contact with harsh chemicals such as muriatic acid.
  • Can vinyl flooring handle heavy loads?

    • The thicker the vinyl tile the better is its performance to withstand heavy loads. Using the appropriate thickness of vinyl, dimensional stability against heavy loads is ensured.
  • Can vinyl handle cigarette burns?

    • Extreme heat or fire will damage AVQT. A cigarette may leave a mark depending on how long the lighted end comes in contact with the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions about MIMICRI

  • What is the difference between Vinyl and Resilient?

    • Resilient and vinyl are different terms used to describe the same flooring.
  • What do you mean by Luxury Resilient Flooring?

    • The term Luxury Resilient Flooring is used because it showcases premium product designs and warranties.
  • What kind of floor preparation in needed?

    • The sub-floor must be prepared to ensure that it is smooth, flat and dry. Any bump, ridge or indentation in the sub-floor may eventually show on the surface of the vinyl tile. If installation is done over concrete, it should be tested for moisture emission rates and pH level to ensure it has cured prior to the tile"s installation. For a complete flat and even sub-floor, we recommend using ¼ or ½ in. marine plywood.
  • What adhesive is best for installing Mimicri?

    • We recommend using a water-based acrylic adhesive such as Apo Powerbond. This product is non-toxic and doesn't give off harmful fumes such as contact cement. It does not cause shrinkage to the tiles and has greater bonding strength. Possibility of correction once the tile has been laid makes installation easier. It is also only applied on one side of the tile, unlike other adhesives. This makes it more economical with better results compared to other adhesives such as contact cement.
  • How do I care and maintain Mimicri?

    • Regular care of Mimicri floors is so simple. Sweeping or mopping will help maintain the original shine and color of a resilient floor for years. Quick clean-up of spots and spills with a mild detergent and water will prevent discoloration of the flooring.
  • Can Mimicri handle spills such as water?

    • Yes, Mimicri will not react when in contact with spills such as water because it is impervious to water. However, like with any spills, we recommend you clean up the spill immediately. Use an adhesive like our Powerbond to prevent delamination for short-term seepage of water.
  • How about other types of spills such as oils and chemicals?

    • Our flooring will not react to sudden spills from cooking oil, soy sauce, vinegar and other light chemicals. As with any floor, wiping any spills and following caution though must be made to prevent our resilient floors from being in contact with harsh chemicals such as muriatic acid.
  • Can Mimicri flooring handle heavy loads?

    • The thicker the vinyl tile the better is its performance to withstand heavy loads. Using the appropriate thickness of Mimicri will ensure dimensional stability against heavy loads.
  • Can Mimicri handle cigarette burns?

    • Burn marks will show when the lighted cigarette comes into contact with the floor for an extended period of time.
  • Will Mimicri wear-out easily?

    • There is an appropriate type of Mimicri that matches every indoor flooring application. For low-traffic applications, Mimicri 1.3mm products will suffice. Medium-traffic application will benefit from a thicker gauged tile of 2mm. For heavy-traffic applications we recommend using a Mimicri 3mm products. Please see our life expectancy chart above.

Frequently Asked Questions about APO ENGINEERED WOOD

  • What is APO Engineered Wood?

    • APO Engineered Wood is made of several layers of real wood layered in a cross grained manner to counter the natural tendency of wood to shift with changes in temperature and humidity levels. It is factory finished, which means it comes ready to install without additional sanding or coating. It has a superior coating of UV cured polyurethane to protect it against scratches and dents making it highly durable as well as beautiful.
  • Is APO Engineered Wood similar to HDF Laminates?

    • APO Engineered Wood is different from HDF Laminates. HDF uses a film laminated to the HDF backing so it has a synthetic look to it unlike APO Engineered Wood. Also, APO Engineered Wood utilizes a cross-grain construction for superior resistance to moisture and humidity while HDF Laminates are prone to movement as they are susceptible to changes in humidity and moisture.
  • Can APO Engineered Wood be re-sanded?

    • There will be no need for re-sanding because APO Engineered Wood comes factory finished with a superior coating finished to ASTM standards made to withstand everyday wear and tear. With proper care and maintenance, APO Engineered Wood can last a lifetime.
  • Can my APO Engineered Wood have a consistently-grained, uniform look?

    • The beauty of natural wood is the non-repetition of the wood grain due to the different portions of the wood that is cut. This is what homeowners look for since these add character to their interiors.
  • Does APO Engineered Wood dent?

    • Like any natural wood, APO Engineered Wood will dent when pierced or hit by a heavy load. These dents actually add to the natural beauty of real wood.
  • How do you clean and maintain APO Engineered Wood?

    • Regular care of APO Engineered Wood is so simple. Daily sweeping and vacuuming is the only thing needed to maintain the beauty and look of real, natural looking wood floors.
